25 Things to Do in Puerto Aventuras (2026 Local Guide)

Updated February 2026 · 12 min read

Puerto Aventuras marina and pool activities

Puerto Aventuras is small and quiet — that's the point. But "small" doesn't mean boring. The gated community itself has enough to fill lazy vacation days, and its central Riviera Maya location puts cenotes, eco-parks, ruins, and beaches within easy reach.

This guide covers everything from what to do without leaving Puerto Aventuras to the best day trips nearby. We've organized it by distance so you can plan around how much you actually want to leave your villa.

Inside Puerto Aventuras (Walking Distance)

These activities are all within the safe, gated community — walkable or a quick golf cart ride.

1

Sunset Marina Walk

5 min walk from Casa Xaman

The marina comes alive around 5pm. Watch fishing boats return, browse the shops, grab a drink at one of the waterfront restaurants. The sunset views over the boats are genuinely beautiful.

2

Fatima Bay Beach

10 min walk from Casa Xaman

Puerto Aventuras' main beach — calm, protected waters perfect for kids. Beach chairs and umbrellas available. Less crowded than public beaches outside the community.

3

The Hidden Caleta

2 min walk from Casa Xaman

A small, natural inlet with calm water ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking, or just floating. Most visitors don't know it exists. Casa Xaman provides paddleboards and kayaks.

4

CEDAM Shipwreck Museum

Marina area

A small but fascinating museum dedicated to underwater archaeology and shipwrecks of the Riviera Maya. Great for a quick visit with kids interested in history or diving.

5

Tennis and Padel Courts

Within community

Well-maintained courts available to community visitors. Your concierge can arrange court time or lessons.

6

Golf Cart Exploration

Throughout community

Most visitors explore Puerto Aventuras by golf cart — it's the local way. Casa Xaman includes a 6-seater cart. Kids love it. Cruise the canals, find the best ice cream spot, watch the iguanas.

7

Marina Restaurants

Marina area

Several solid restaurants line the marina — Italian, Mexican, seafood, casual bars. Nothing fancy, but good for a night when you don't want your chef to cook.

8

Deep Sea Fishing Charters

Departs from marina

The marina is home to a serious fishing fleet. Half-day and full-day charters for sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi, and tuna. Your concierge can arrange everything.

9

Scuba Diving

Departs from marina

Several dive shops operate from Puerto Aventuras. Explore the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Great for beginners and certified divers.

Planning Your Days

Here's how we'd structure a week in Puerto Aventuras:

Day 1: Arrive, settle in, marina walk, sunset at the caleta

Day 2: Pool day at the villa, explore the community by golf cart

Day 3: Akumal sea turtle snorkeling (morning), cenote in afternoon

Day 4: Full day at Xcaret or Xel-Há

Day 5: Tulum ruins (early) + Tulum beach

Day 6: Recovery day — villa pool, paddleboarding, marina dinner

Day 7: Morning fishing charter or last cenote, then pack

The beauty of staying in Puerto Aventuras is that you don't have to do anything. The villa, the marina, the calm water — it's enough. But when you want adventure, everything is close.
